Workshop Reviews: I usually wake up late on Saturdays, feeling quite depressed...

Updated: Jul 2

For some, Saturdays do not feel like rest, not because of what they are doing, but because of what is happening in their mind. Instead, the weekends feel like emotional leftovers.

You might wake up late. Or you might wake up early. Either way, the feeling is the same - heavy. You tell yourself you are taking it easy. That this is your time to breathe but instead, your mind is already working overtime, thinking, spiralling, replaying things. You are lying still, but internally you are on the move, just not in a direction that feels good.

feeling quite depressed

One of our workshop attendees described it perfectly:

“I usually wake up really late on Saturdays and feeling quite depressed, constantly battling my 'Grey Voices', as you guys put it. I’ve got a really demanding job in law, and I thought I was de-stressing every Saturday, but really, I was just immersing myself in those voices.”

At Grid Society, we call this false rest.

It looks like downtime. But it is not. It is you, lying in bed, feeling quite depressed, reliving pressure, replaying fears. Getting mentally stuck in conversations that have already happened, or ones you are dreading in the week ahead. You are not lazy. You are just heavy. That is what the Grey Grid does. It keeps you in cycles that look like “rest,” but drain you even more.

That same attendee came to our Building Boundaries workshop. And here is what they told us:

“I felt so positive and invigorated afterwards. I went on to have the most special weekend without my grey thoughts weighing me down. I was dreading the 4-hour workshop, but honestly, it’s the best self-investment you could ever choose for yourself.”

If your Saturday mornings feel heavy…

If you wake up low energy, whether it is 6 a.m. or noon…

If your first thoughts are filled with pressure, self-criticism, or dread about the week ahead. That is not peace. That is the Grey Grid doing what it does, keeping you stuck in your head. You deserve more than just dragging yourself through the weekend, hoping to feel better by Monday.

Our workshops give you something solid. Not just a pep talk. Not just a quick fix. A proper reset. A system that actually helps your mind clear out, slow down, and make space to feel like you again. 🧡
